Reminder
Posted on Apr 17th, 2012
PLEASE TAKE A MINUTE

If you live 1 mile from the entrance to McLendon Hills, it will take you 2.4 minutes from the gate to arrive home traveling the speed limit—25 MPH.  If you go 40 MPH, you’ll arrive home in 1.5 minutes—less than a minute sooner.  To save those 54 seconds, you’ve endangered whatever might cross your path by almost doubling your stopping distance from 85 feet to 164 feet, on average.

The warm weather has arrived early.  Daylight Saving Time has lengthened our evening hours of light.  Soon the kids will be out of school.  Please take that extra minute or so and drive within our 25 MPH speed limit; it might save something far more precious than a minute of your time.

New procedures for Architectural Review
Posted on May 10th, 2011
This is a reminder that all plan packages for new construction must be complete and submitted to the ARB through CAS. ARB forms and instructions are available on the McLendon Hills web site. Incomplete plans will not be considered for approval. It is the owner’s responsibility to review all community guidelines prior to committing to a building plan. If the owner is proposing a plan that deviates from the Covenants, a request for a variance must be submitted stating why the project cannot comply with the specified requirements. Please forward any questions concerning this matter to the ARB Chairman, Dorrie Kayser  (email) or by phone

Revised Fishing Rules
Posted on Oct 6th, 2010

In order to rejuvenate the bass population in Lake Troy Douglss and to thin out the over-abundance of small bass, The Lake and Wildlife Committee has made a change to the “catch and release” program currently in effect. Effective immediately and until further notice, all fish caught, except for large mouth bass over 12 inches, may be taken and not released back into the water. The Lake and Wildlife Committee asks that you keep an informal record of what you catch and remove from the lake so they can monitor the success of the revised program. This information can be passed on to Chuck Kayser via email.
